These were the billboard that was nominated for an OBIE Award in 2019. In order to qualify for an OBIE award, the billboard has to go into production and cannot be creative proof, meaning the client has to agree to the artwork and pay for it.
This billboard campaign was pitched as a tease and reveal, the first two being the teaser, to pique the audience's interest. The second two as the reveal after a couple of weeks. The client was so happy with the product they ordered a static billboard with extensions of the revealing art.
These are some examples of art proofs that were pitched to different clients. The first two were pitched to a solar panel company. The Hartford South billboard was a client that was purchasing an ad for hiring. The last billboard is a pizza restaurant where the artwork was designed to look like an open pizza box. A lot of times we tried to pitch the client something unique and "out of the box", pun intended.
